Lifelong learning is defined as purposeful learning, occurring among adults and students who are engaged in learning throughout all stages in their life with the objective of acquiring and developing skills and knowledge in areas of interest (Bryce & Withers, 2003; Head, Van Hoeck, & Garson, 2015).
A video by Professor Mitchel Resnick from MIT provokes thought on how digital technology plays a part in creating lifelong learners. He states that the availability of new technologies meant that students and other people are provided with the opportunity to re-evaluate the ways in which they learn; what, how, where, when, who. The digital age and Internet also indicates that people always information available at the tip of their fingers and this database of resources and information is ever growing.
